Meera Mukundan is a well-known writer among the Pisharody community, recognized for her numerous works published in Malayalam in Thulaseedalam.
Born and brought up in Mumbai, Meera was a budding writer in English during her school and college years, winning several prizes in English poetry competitions. Daughter of Thrissur Kizhakke Pisharath Balakrishna Pisharody and Pulamanthol Pisharath Malathi Pisharasiar, she developed a deep interest in Malayalam literature. This passion was nurtured through her regular reading of eminent Malayalam authors from the library of Kerala Samajam, Matunga.
In 1984, Meera joined Canara Bank, Thane Branch, where she began contributing to the bank’s house magazine Shreyas. Her short stories won her several accolades for their literary merit.
In 1994, she married Kulathur Mandarathil Pisharath Mukundan and moved to Palakkad, where she continued her literary journey, penning many notable stories.
