An alumnus of the <strong>Indian Naval Academy<\/strong>, he graduated with a <strong>B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering<\/strong> from the <strong>Naval College of Engineering, INS Shivaji<\/strong>, Lonavla, under the aegis of <strong>Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), Delhi<\/strong>. He later completed his <strong>M.E in Mechanical\/Marine Engineering<\/strong> from the <strong>Institute of Armament Technology (IAT)<\/strong>, Pune, affiliated with <strong>Pune University<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He underwent specialized training to be inducted into the <strong>Submarine Arm<\/strong> of the Indian Navy and served in several critical appointments, including <strong>Operational<\/strong>, <strong>Staff<\/strong>, and <strong>Training<\/strong> roles. Notably, he served at the <strong>Naval Selection Board in Coimbatore<\/strong>, Tamil Nadu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Born into a distinguished family in <strong>Kerala<\/strong>, Commander Upendra Babu spent most of his formative years in <strong>Bengaluru, Karnataka<\/strong>. He is an alumnus of <strong>Kendriya Vidyalayas Malleswaram, ASC, and Jalahalli<\/strong>, as well as <strong>BEL College<\/strong> and <strong>MES College of Arts, Commerce and Science<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Following his retirement from active service, he transitioned into the <strong>corporate and development sectors<\/strong>, leading <strong>Learning &amp; Organizational Development (L&amp;OD)<\/strong> initiatives and corporate management training.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He made his literary debut with the novel <strong>&#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.in\/Turnouts-Tribute-Distant-Star\/dp\/938402760X\">The Turnouts \u2013 Tribute to a Distant Star<\/a>.&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Commander Upendra Babu is the <strong>son of Late K. P. Rabindran<\/strong> of <strong>Kizheettil Pisharam<\/strong>, the <strong>elder son of the renowned writer Late Cherukad<\/strong>, and <strong>Cherukara Pisharath Vilasini<\/strong>.
