The name Yuvachaithanyam<\/em> holds a special place among Pisharodies, tracing its origins back to the 1920s when a group of progressive-minded young men founded it. At that time, the then Vaishnavasamajam<\/em>\u2014later renamed Samasta Kerala Pisharody Samajam<\/em>\u2014published a handwritten magazine under this very name. However, both the movement and the magazine faded into obscurity within one or two decades.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In February 2002, another generation of progressive-minded youth revived the spirit of Yuvachaithanyam<\/em> by launching a website. Shortly after, they brought back the magazine in a new form\u2014a web publication, effectively reincarnating the century-old title. The online magazine was published monthly until November 2007, after which it ceased, possibly due to a lack of literary contributions from members or other reasons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the COVID-19 pandemic, when the world came to a standstill and our official mouthpiece Thulaseedalam<\/em> could not be printed, the magazine made yet another comeback in April 2020, continuing until October that year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, with members confined to their homes, the website team initiated a YouTube channel and formed a cultural group named Yuvachaithanyam<\/em>. Its aim was to provide a platform for young talents\u2014both from within and outside the Samajam\u2014to showcase their skills to a global audience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of its landmark events was the 10-day online Onaghosham \u201cOnam Splash\u201d<\/strong> in 2020, held from Atham<\/em> to Thiruvonam<\/em>. Through 10 episodes, the festival featured around 100 young talents from across the globe. The subdivision was officially inaugurated on 22 August 2020 by renowned actor Ramesh Pisharody<\/strong>. This was one of the few initiatives during the pandemic that successfully engaged members worldwide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following its debut success, Yuvachaithanyam<\/em> organised the Navarathri Classical Fest 2020<\/strong>, a nine-day celebration giving prominence to classical art forms. Both events received widespread appreciation from members and the wider community for their quality and presentation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2021, the group conducted Onaghosham \u201cVasantholsavam 2021\u201d<\/strong>, another 10-day festival, followed by the Navarathri Classical Fest 2021<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As the pandemic gradually subsided and life returned to normal, activities became less frequent. Still, Yuvachaithanyam<\/em> managed to hold Yuvachaithanyonam \u201922<\/strong> in 2022 and Thiruvonappookkal<\/strong> in 2023 before winding down operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Eventually, with the formation of a new cultural forum\u2014Thulaseedalam Kala Samskarika Samithi<\/strong>\u2014the Yuvachaithanyam<\/em> division naturally dissolved, and its members dispersed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
