The Official Samajapathrika of Pisharody Samajam
Thulaseedalam is the official magazine (Samajapathrika) of Pisharody Samajam, created with the core mission of connecting Pisharodies across the globe. It serves as a vibrant medium to share news, updates, cultural contributions, and creative works from and about the community.
Originally unnamed, the magazine was later christened Thulaseedalam, with its emblem designed by the esteemed Sanskrit scholar, the Late Sri Eranellur Bharatha Pisharody. The magazine owes much to the generous financial support of the Late Dr. S.K. Pisharody, which helped it overcome early challenges.
Under the editorship of the Late Sri Elamkulam Krishna Pisharody and the management of Sri K. Govinda Pisharody, Thulaseedalam flourished and gained independence and credibility. In the 1990s, the magazine was revitalized under the leadership of the Late Sri Arangottu Sekhara Pisharody. With Panditharathnam K.P. Narayana Pisharody as editor and Sri V.P. Sukumaran and Krishnadas as managers, the magazine reached new heights in both content quality and financial stability.
Thulaseedalam Literary Awards
In 2024, Pisharody Samajam instituted the Thulaseedalam Literary Award to extend the magazine’s influence beyond the community and honor exceptional literary and cultural contributions. The awards aim to make the Pisharody community’s creativity and social commitment known to the wider public.

Named in honor of the Samajam’s first Kulapathi and former Chief Editor, this prestigious award recognizes eminent personalities in literature and culture.
First recipient: Sri C. Radhakrishnan – Renowned Writer, Scientist & Film Director. - Sargga Pratibha Puraskaram
Awarded to outstanding Pisharody writers whose works were published in Thulaseedalam.
First recipient: Smt. Rema Prasanna Pisharody. - Navamukulam Puraskaram
Recognizes emerging literary talents from the community.

Nurturing Creativity
Beyond news and updates, Thulaseedalam serves as a platform for aspiring writers from the Pisharody community, encouraging the publication of poetry, essays, and stories by young and amateur authors.
