A Noted Thimila Artist
Peruvanam Thekke Pisharath Krishnakumar is a renowned artist in the traditional Kerala percussion instrument Thimila. He is a prominent presence in Panchavadyam performances across Kerala and is a lead performer in major temple festivals, including the famous Thrissur Pooram.
Krishnakumar began his journey in percussion at the age of 12, debuting on the Ilathaalam under the guidance of masters Peruvanam Appu Marar and Chakkamkulam Appu Marar. Later, he transitioned to Thimila, making his debut in the instrument at the age of 16 under the tutelage of Kumarakom Appu Marar.
Over the years, he has accompanied many stalwarts of Panchavadyam such as Chottanikkara Narayana Marar, Pallavur Maniyan Marar, Pallavur Kunjikuttan Marar, Kalamandalam Parameswara Marar, Kelath Kuttappan Marar, and Chottanikkara Vijayan, performing in second and third lead positions in prestigious ensembles.
His performances have also taken him abroad, including to countries like Russia, Kenya, and the UAE, where he has showcased the richness of Panchavadyam to international audiences.

കേരളത്തിലങ്ങോളമിങ്ങോളമുള്ള പഞ്ചവാദ്യങ്ങളിലെ സജീവ സാന്നിദ്ധ്യമായ കൃഷ്ണകുമാർ തൃശൂർ പൂരം എന്നിങ്ങനെയുള്ള മുഖ്യ പഞ്ചവാദ്യങ്ങളിലും മുൻനിരംഗമാണ്.
പന്ത്രണ്ടാം വയസ്സിൽ ഇലത്താളത്തിൽ പെരുവനം അപ്പു മാരാർ, ചക്കം കുളം അപ്പുമാരാർ എന്നിവരുടെ നേതൃത്വത്തിൽ അരങ്ങേറ്റം കുറിച്ച് പിന്നീട് തിമിലയിലേക്ക് തിരിയുകയായിരുന്നു.
16 മത്തെ വയസ്സിൽ കുമരകം അപ്പു മാരാരുടെ ശിക്ഷണത്തിൽ തിമിലയിൽ അരങ്ങേറ്റം കുറിച്ചു. ഇതിനകം പഞ്ചവാദ്യത്തിലെ അതികായകരായ ചോറ്റാനിക്കര നാരായണ മാരാർ, പല്ലാവൂർ മണിയൻ മാരാർ, പല്ലാവൂർ കുഞ്ഞികുട്ടൻ മാരാർ, കലാമണ്ഡലം പരമേശ്വര മാരാർ,കേളത്ത് കുട്ടപ്പൻ മാരാർ, ചോറ്റാനിക്കര വിജയൻ എന്നിവർക്കൊപ്പം രണ്ടും മൂന്നും സ്ഥാനങ്ങളിൽ കൊട്ടാനായി.
റഷ്യ , കെനിയ, യു എ ഇ തുടങ്ങി വിദേശ രാജ്യങ്ങളിൽ പഞ്ചവാദ്യം അവതരിപ്പിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്.
തൃപ്പൂണിത്തുറ കൊച്ചപ്പൻ തമ്പുരാൻ പുരസ്കാരം , 2009 ലെ പഴുവിൽ സ്കന്ദ പുരസ്കാരം, 2011ലെ മുംബൈ കേളിയുടെ രജത ശംഖ്, പെരുവനം അപ്പുമാരാർ സ്മാരക വാദ്യ കലാപീഠം പുരസ്കാരം-2025, കൊച്ചിൻ രാജ കുടുംബം സുവർണ്ണ മുദ്ര, കാലടി ക്ഷേത്ര കലാസ്വാദക സമിതി സുവർണ്ണ മുദ്ര അടക്കം പല ബഹുമതികളും ലഭിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്.
