K. P. Nandakumar is a renowned Malayalam devotional lyricist known for his unique poetic style that resonates deeply with the hearts of devotees. His lyrics, rich with devotion and emotion, have carved a special place in the realm of Malayalam spiritual music.
So far, more than 30 of his devotional songs have been released across five albums, composed by acclaimed music directors like Vidyadharan Master and K. M. Udayan. These spiritually uplifting compositions have been brought to life by renowned vocalists such as Vidyadharan Master, Kallara Gopan, Madhu Balakrishnan, Chitra Arun, Preethi Warrier, Vishnu, and Arun, among others.
Among his popular works, the Ayyappa devotional song “Aarilum Kaniyumennayyan”, sung by Madhu Balakrishnan and composed by K. M. Udayan, stands out. This song is played daily at the Sabarimala Sannidhanam through the public address system every morning, reaching thousands of devotees — a testament to the depth and impact of his lyrics.
