Madhav Ramdasan is a renowned Malayalam film director who gained national recognition with his debut feature film Melvilasam (2011). The film earned him the prestigious Gollapudi Srinivas National Award for Best Debut Director and also received the P. Bhaskaran Award for Best Feature Film of the year. Melvilasam further garnered international acclaim by being featured at the 16th Busan International Film Festival in South Korea.
His second film, Apothecary, critically explored the ethical dimensions of the medical profession and was widely appreciated for its sensitive and realistic portrayal. In 2019, he directed Ilayaraja, which was released in March of that year. His latest project, Azhi, is currently under production.
Born in 1975, Madhav Ramdasan began his creative career making advertisement films and documentaries. He hails from a culturally rooted family:

He is married to Kalamandalam Bindulekha, a well-known dancer and mural artist.
